DEMO Day: Defense Innovation ONRamp Hub: Kansas And Fuse Ventures

The Defense Innovation OnRamp Hub: Kansas is a hosting a Demo Day for the inaugural cohort of its Kansas Hardware Accelerator, run in partnership with Fuse Ventures, at 5:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, October 28, at the Kansas Aviation Museum.

You’re invited. Don’t miss this. RSVP HERE.

Here’s what you need to know

We watched these startups pitch at 1 Million Cups in our event venue on October 7, and we were floored. We don’t see things like this in Wichita that often, and we want to see more of it. The talent is here. The infrastructure is here. OnRampHub: Kansas, which offices out of Groover Labs, and Fuse Ventures, a dual-use accelerator and commercialization platform with offices across the country, brought these companies to Wichita for a 10-week cohort to refine, scale, and commercialize their products.

Why you should come

During their presentations, when 1MC asked what we, in Wichita, could do for them, they gave answers that were specific and clear. Several are looking for:

  • Manufacturing partners

  • Fabricators

  • Integration partners

  • Suppliers

  • Test range locations

  • Ecosystem introductions

One team came from Sweden, and they’re looking at Wichita to establish a U.S. presence.

So, come.

The event is free, but you have to RSVP.

Here’s who you’ll hear from

  • A multi-legged bot built on 20 years of Georgia Tech locomotion research that crawls into complex environments to solve problems.

  • A drone airframe cut to two aluminum pieces — and no screws — from a team with a background building presses and tooling.

  • A counter-drone system that eliminates a swarm in one fell swoop rather than one by one.

  • A turbine-powered VTOL designed by a former military helicopter pilot to haul heavy cargo hundreds of miles while refueling instead of recharging.

  • A docking connecting unit that lets a spacecraft grab a satellite in orbit for refueling and software updates through a port - no robotic arms required.

  • A drone interceptor that comes out of a 3D printer ready to go. And if you need more drones, add more printers.

  • Microelectronics built from atom-thin metal layers that could help quantum computers scale past their current iterations.

Don’t miss this.
