TOADWORX Wins Shocker New Venture Competition
ACCEL-KS Proof-of-Concept grant recipient and Maker Lab member Toadworx was awarded first place in Wichita State University’s Shocker New Venture Competition. Congratulations, Toadworx!
The Shocker New Venture Competition (SNVC) is the WSU Center for Entrepreneurship’s annual student startup pitch competition, run by the Barton School of Business. Since 2007, the competition gives entrepreneurs the chance to pitch startup ideas, refine their strategies, and compete for funding.
What is the format?
There are three rounds. Applications open in early March. Judges then review the submissions and select 16 teams to advance to a trade show. At the show, each team sets up a booth, and deliver live pitches to judges, who “invest” in projects that the find interesting. The top six teams advance to the finals, where the overall winner is selected.
