ACCEL-KS Founder Video: Lucille Group

The Kansas Department of Commerce and Groover Labs partnered to bring the Accelerating Concept to Commercialization in Kansas, or ACCEL-KS, to life, reaching out across the state to find and fund 25 projects, provide them with startup ecosystem support, and help bring their products to early-stage commercialization.

Near the end of the grant period, we surveyed the recipients. Based on their responses, we selected six projects that had made the most progress, and we worked with Malibu Creative to produce videos that highlight their work through ACCEL-KS.

Over the next six weeks, we’re going to share each video, along with some brief info about the project.

Here is Lucille Group!

After a fire or any catastrophe, when a homeowner has to inventory lost items, memory and documentation become paramount. The risk of not being prepared can cost tens of thousands of dollars.

Developed by Andrea Amaro and John Carter III, Ask Lucille helps prevent that extra financial loss. Using AI image recognition, it quickly inventories a whole home or apartment, capturing and valuing belongings before a claim ever happens.

Groover Labs staff experienced the app firsthand. During the end-of-year Startup Showcase, the co-founders gave a demonstration. They used Ask Lucille to take photos and run valuations of some of the tech pieces in the Groover Labs library, including the Ethernet switch created by Curt Gridley at Amber Wave, the product that started it all.

The ACCEL-KS grant funds allowed Lucille Group to jump roughly six months to a year ahead of their goals. Groover Labs provided access to ecosystem support and mentors.
