ACCEL-KS Founder Video: Planetary Talent
The Kansas Department of Commerce and Groover Labs partnered to bring the Accelerating Concept to Commercialization in Kansas, or ACCEL-KS, to life, reaching out across the state to find and fund 25 projects, provide them with startup ecosystem support, and help bring their products to early-stage commercialization.
Near the end of the grant period, we surveyed the recipients. Based on their responses, we selected six projects that had made the most progress, and we worked with Malibu Creative to produce videos that highlight their work through ACCEL-KS.
Over the next six weeks, we’re going to share each video, along with some brief info about the project.
Here is Planetary Talent!
Finding the right applicant in today’s job market can feel like a game of chance rather than a deliberate, thoughtful search. AI resumes all sound the same. Strong applicants can get buried beneath mediocre ones.
Planetary Talent, co-founded by Jacob Schlittenhardt, is reimagining the hiring process.
Instead of a job posting, an employer shares its raw thinking about the hire they need; from that, the platform builds a model of the ideal candidate and runs targeted ads to find them. Applicants get a model too, built around their story, and the two compare notes before a human sees a shortlist.
The ACCEL-KS grant allowed Jacob to contract a developer to build the infrastructure early customers needed. Groover Labs has been Planetary Talent’s home base from the beginning, providing a sounding board and opportunities to test the technology.
