Groover Labs is fortunate to have truly remarkable members, many of whom are forging their own professional paths, and we wanted to interview them in a way that properly reflects their creativity.
Meet Matthew Smith!
1. In 50 words or fewer, what do you do?
I work for Crosspoint, which currently focuses on real estate, specifically asset acquisition and property management. I’m currently working on a CPA certification in order to bring a technical skillset to my professional endeavors. I believe in a bias to action paired with a mitigated risk strategy.
2. What got you in the door at Groover Labs?
I went online and looked up "top co-working spaces in Wichita," and it didn't take long to find that the best is Groover! :)
3. Early bird or night owl - and what are you doing during those hours?
Probably more of a night owl, but hope to be a little bit of both if possible!
4. 3D Printer, laser cutter, or pencil - and what would you make?
Laser cutter to create parts for an Iron Man suit :D
5. Flying there or driving there - with music, podcasts, or audiobooks?
Pretty cool to be up in the air and wish I were better about podcasts and audiobooks, but find myself jamming out to music most of the time.
6. Lo-fi, no-fi, or full-fi - how do you like to work?
Pretty good variety of music throughout the day, but recently been on a jazz kick. Tough to beat Charlie Parker and Laufey. Maverick City has some great songs as well.
7. What's one problem you'd love to solve?
Practically, I would love to create a device that prevents hail damage done to vehicles, that is portable and economical. Socially, I want to learn how to better help others get out of their shell so we can better embrace their talents/personality.
8. What's something about you that people wouldn't expect?
I’m a pretty generic guy with a generic name, but I have an unusual appreciation for whole milk.
9. Fiction, non-fiction, business/leadership, motivation, other?
I’m really into business and leadership content. I love learning about others' successes/failures and trying to adapt my strategy accordingly.
